Commercial Chalk Wine Cellar and Winery Development
This project required us to adhere to several compliance measures that ensured onsite operations and results in line with stringent industry standards. What’s more, the contract had a concrete deadline with no flexibility as the vineyard was fully operational. In fact, the project itself was to accommodate the business’s expansion.
The job is a perfect example of our company’s desire to deliver unique, one-of-a-kind results that meet all stakeholder expectations. And all this despite inherent complications, such as the site being off-grid, difficult HGV access and the type of chalk present.
Finished features include internal walls of exposed chalk, a living wall on the front elevation and a stunning amphitheatre to host vineyard events above the cellar.
This project earned us the ‘Best Small Commercial Project in the South East’ award at the 2019 LABC Building Excellence Awards.
Commercial Music Studio
While much of our work in and around Guildford includes property extensions and new timber framed buildings – including preliminary tasks like bulk excavations and groundworks, our team is equally adept at niche property renovations.
Due to the technical requirements of this job, we followed strict guidelines about the materials we could use. The client was especially keen for an economically and environmentally sustainable solution. We took every step possible to respect these wishes, delivering a finished space that ticked every box.
Tunnelling in Chalk to Link Existing Tunnels
Again, for this particular project, we had to meet various compliance measures to ensure our work followed stringent industry standards. Nevertheless, we reached completion on time and within budget. It’s another great example of our dedication to delivering unusual, quality projects, managing everything from start to finish, meeting our clients’ business requirements and achieving total satisfaction.
Large Country House Development
The original property at the heart of this project is over 200 years old. SLK Construction managed a significant operation which added property extensions on both sides and a basement below ground. All our work had to meet English Heritage’s requirements for listed buildings.
Library Bus Conversion
For this project, we converted a library bus into a 10-man camper for a charity event run by Veterans in Action. During the process, we worked with, and mentored, veterans suffering from the effects of war.
We were proud to teach them an array of skills during our time involved with the project. Upon completion, the converted bus took part in a European tour.
